On the Shelf

I spent some time in bed with a bad back. While there I discovered Pinterest and the wealth of imagery that can be found there. I thought back to all the paintings I wanted to do using different styles and materials that I never got around to doing. I decided there was no better time than the present. I'm taking some time away from landscape painting for something different. I hope to have fun and rediscover the reasons I became a painter in the first place. My landscape paintings can be found in the Archive

M&Ms

28" x 24"

I thought I would start with a still life of a bag of M&Ms. The bag should be enough of a challenge that I will know early on if I can paint well enough for the idea to work. I am also planning to do something graphic with the M&Ms or that is the hope. I will just have to see how it goes.

Wine Glass

5.5" x 12"

I learned from the M&Ms that I didn't know what I was doing and thought a few smaller pieces might help me learn to paint. Still lifes are different from landscape paintings. I need to learn a different technique.

Osprey

I have been thinking of going back to my roots and doing a few bird paintings. This is an Osprey from a photo taken by my nephew.
